Question

Earlier this week i was painting my bathroom vanity cabinet which has large heavy duty hinges attached to the doors and i noticed that there was some old paint on the hinges. i would really like to have the hinges look like new and restor them to there origional condition. how can i get paint off the heavy duty cabinet hinges.

Answer

usally the paint would be oil based and if this is the case then you can let your heavy duty hinges soak in metholated spirets, (also konw as thinners or mineral spirits) this should do the job 90 percent of the time. if it is latex paint then dry giving denatured alchol. this seams to work for me. If it is still wont come off then the last resort and will deffinatly peel any type of paint off is a product called “No Stand” this product will is very strong and will remove anything the paint is stuck to so use it wisly as it may cause more dammage than good.

however if you are willing to spend money on procuts to try and remove the paint then you might as well spend ten dollar on some new hinges. the ones below can be delivered to you door an a few day..

hope this helps..
